Fairly often, people ask me how HealthyTalk Decision-making (HealthyTalk or HTDm) compares with processes such as Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and Non-violent Communication (NVC). Solutions or Values-which comes first? |

Organizations often jump from identification of a "problem" to its solution. Frequently, this leaves many individuals feeling frustrated because the "solution" fails to meet their interests. Interests are their underlying needs or values. Most people are unaware of their interests in a conscious way. For greater success: first, start a dialog. One that supports individuals in identifying their interests. Then, find the commonalities and the overall interests of the organization. Explore the possibilities that open up to discover actions that meet as many interests as possible.

How to tame the proliferation of messages |

Once you start developing messages to use in responding to questions and concerns, you can find that one message generates another, which generates another, and so on. When you have a pile of messages, it's time to organize them. Some messages are actually details that clarify an earlier message. Some answer other questions or respond to other concerns from the one you started answering.
